Eva Björg Ægisdóttir’s thriller The Night She Disappeared has been named one of the five best crime and thriller novels being released in Britain this September by The Times, mbl.is reports.

The newspaper’s reviewer writes that the book asks, “What would you do if you knew something bad was happening but could not prove it?” It also highlights how little people sometimes know about one another, adding: “One thing is certain: you will get goosebumps reading The Night She Disappeared.”

Ægisdóttir’s novel Home Before Dark was nominated this spring for the Gold Dagger in Britain for best translated crime novel. Her debut crime novel, The Creak on the Stairs, previously won the award for debut of the year.

Another of her books, Girls Who Lie, was nominated for the same awards as crime novel of the year. Victoria Cribb translated The Night She Disappeared into English.

The television series Elma will premiere on Sjónvarp Símans in October. It is based on The Creak on the Stairs and is produced by Glassriver.
