Emergency services respond to missing person report at Orrestranden in Kleppe, Norway

Emergency services are currently responding at Orrestranden in Kleppe following a report of a missing person after swimming, shortly before 2 PM. An ambulance helicopter is searching the area near the beach.

A rescue leader confirmed that an adult has been located, and efforts are underway to bring this person to shore. However, their condition remains uncertain.

Multiple emergency units are on-site, including divers from the fire department. A private boat and a rescue helicopter are also en route. A duty officer stated that extensive resources have been deployed, and as of 2:35 PM, firefighters are working to get divers out on a boat.

A man has reportedly been brought ashore, and emergency responders are tending to him. As of 2:38 PM, his status is still unclear.

The currents in the area are known to be strong. Local reports mentioned a child being swept away by the current at Orrestranden just the previous Sunday.
