Stora Enso to cut 13 jobs at Joensuu unit

Stora Enso will dismiss 13 employees and end six temporary contracts at its Uimaharju business unit in Joensuu, Yle reports. The company’s change negotiations have now concluded.

The duties of 16 employees will also change.

The negotiations aimed to improve competitiveness and efficiency, develop new ways of working and make use of synergies within the Uimaharju business unit.

Before the negotiations, Stora Enso estimated that the personnel impact would amount to no more than 35 person-years. The talks covered all employees at the unit, around 380 people.

The unit comprises the Uimaharju pulp mill and the nearby Uimaharju sawmill.
