Rent subsidy should not reduce pensioners’ personal supplement

Rent subsidy should not be counted as income when pensioners apply for a personal supplement, Kringvarp Føroya reported Friday. Under the current regulation, however, it is included, meaning the personal supplement is likely to be reduced.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing says the regulation should therefore be amended. A proposal has been sent out for consultation.
