Driver stopped at 190 km/h in 90 km/h zone
Police stopped a driver travelling at 190 km/h in a 90 km/h zone, mbl.is reports. The incident was among the cases recorded in the police log covering operations from 5pm on Thursday to 5am on Friday.
Police were also called to an assault in central Reykjavik. The case is under investigation.
Car ended up in residential garden
Police station three, which serves Kópavogur and Breiðholt, was called to a traffic accident in which a car was driven into a garden beside a residential house.
The report says there was no suspicion that the driver involved was under the influence. A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after trying to run from police. He was apprehended a short distance from the car.
Police also received a report of a theft from a shop. The case was resolved with an incident report.
