The Faroese government has not decided whether to renovate the Suðuroy pharmacy in Tvøroyri or find other premises, or where the island’s health centre should be located, KVF reports.

The Ministry of Health and Energy recently received responses from Suðuroy’s municipalities on whether the health centre in Vágur should be expanded or a new one built. The responses are now being considered.

Health and Energy Minister Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen said this in a reply to parliamentarian Jenis av Rana. She said a decision on the Suðuroy pharmacy would also be made as part of the process.

There has been discussion of having two health centres in Suðuroy. However, municipalities in the southern part of the island and doctors want one centre serving the entire island.
