Coffee and chocolate prices fell in August, according to Matpriskollen, SVT reports.
Overall, grocery prices were largely unchanged during the month. Food prices fell by 0.1 percent compared with July.
Coffee recorded one of the sharpest declines, with the price of ground coffee falling by 3.9 percent. Chocolate bar prices dropped by 3.4 percent.
“World market prices are making price cuts on coffee and chocolate possible, and it is welcome that this continues to be reflected in shop prices. Coffee is now as cheap or expensive as it was two years ago,” Ulf Mazur, CEO of Matpriskollen, said in a press release.
Over the past 12 months, regular food prices, including the reduction of food VAT to 6 percent, have fallen by 6.0 percent.
