Finland plans first increase in minimum day fine in over 20 years

Finland’s Ministry of Justice plans to raise the minimum day fine from six euros to ten euros, Yle reports.

A draft government proposal is currently being circulated for comments. The minimum amount was last revised in 2002.

The minimum day fine does not automatically follow changes in the value of money. The proposed update is based on inflation.

Comments on the proposal are requested by 30 September.
