Activist group defaces Neova headquarters over peat extraction

A Swedish activist group has covered the headquarters of state-owned company Neova in Jyväskylä with red paint, Yle reported. Återställ Våtmarker said the protest was aimed at drawing attention to Neova’s peat extraction in Sweden.

Finnish and Swedish activists also climbed onto the building’s roof to drop a banner.

Two years ago, activists from the group and Finland’s Elokapina painted the columns of the Finnish Parliament building red. The group said that protest also aimed to highlight Neova’s activities in Sweden.
