Wartime explosive found and destroyed in Hyvinkää

Yle reported, citing the Eastern Uusimaa police, that a wartime explosive was found in the Vihtilampi terrain in Hyvinkää on Wednesday.

An outdoor enthusiast found the explosive and reported it to the emergency centre in the afternoon.

Defence Forces clearance personnel determined that the explosive could not be moved, so it was destroyed by detonation at the location. The blast caused a loud noise at around 9 p.m.
