Drone found off Porvoo after possible territorial violation

Yle reports that a drone found in a coastal area off Porvoo on Tuesday may be linked to a territorial violation in the Gulf of Finland. The drone was discovered following an observation by a member of the public.

Preliminary information indicates that it was a drone intended for mapping and posed no danger to bystanders, the Defence Ministry said.

The Finnish Border Guard and police have launched an investigation, Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen said in a statement. The Defence Ministry will provide more information as the investigation progresses.
