Brim and Olivia top girls’ names in the Faroe Islands

Brim and Olivia were the most popular names for girls born in the Faroe Islands in 2025, according to KVF, citing Statistics Faroe Islands. Brandur and Elias topped the list for boys.

Other popular girls’ names included Anna and Bjarta. Among boys, Gilli, Hákun and Gabriel were also widely chosen.

Statistics Faroe Islands said Brim is a relatively new name in the Faroe Islands. It was first given to girls born there in 2024. By the end of 2025, 11 women in the country were named Brim.

Olivia is a well-established name that has been popular in recent years. Since 1985, 67 girls have been given the name, and 78 women named Olivia were living in the Faroe Islands at the end of 2025.

Both Brim and Olivia had previously topped the list of girls’ names once, also in 2025.
