Bright skies expected as southern Iceland faces afternoon showers

Much of Iceland will see bright conditions on Tuesday, although afternoon showers are likely in the south, mbl.is reports.

Northerly winds of 5 to 10 metres per second are expected in the far east, while winds will otherwise be lighter and variable. Light rain or drizzle is likely in the northeast and east until midday. Temperatures will range from 7 to 14 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, easterly winds will strengthen, reaching 10 to 15 metres per second along the south coast in the afternoon. Elsewhere, winds will be lighter. Northeastern Iceland will have bright conditions, while the south and west will be cloudy with occasional light showers. Temperatures will range from 6 to 11 degrees, with the coolest conditions in the east.
