Car hits child crossing behind school bus in Sotkamo

A schoolchild was injured in Sotkamo on Monday afternoon after a car hit him as he crossed the road behind a school bus, Yle reported. He was taken to hospital in Kajaani for treatment.

Police said the boy had just got off the school bus and ran across the road from behind it. At the same time, a passenger car approached from the opposite direction and hit him.

The accident happened outside a built-up area. Police are investigating the incident as endangering traffic safety.
