North Korean actors have used artificial intelligence to mimic a person’s voice and facial movements in real time during a job interview, according to Icelandic news outlet mbl.is.

Valdimar Óskarsson, chief executive of Keystrike, warned that artificial intelligence could allow fraudsters to approach their targets in ways that were previously impossible. He said the technology had been used to help someone obtain a job at a US company.

Valdimar said such technology was making it nearly impossible for people to trust what they see and hear in online communications.

“You cannot believe anything, because you have no idea what you are dealing with,” he said. He discussed the risks associated with artificial intelligence and its use in cyberattacks on the Dagmál programme.
