Volvo Cars to close Stockholm office, affecting 450 employees

Volvo Cars will close its Stockholm office and move resources to the company’s headquarters in Gothenburg, SVT reports, citing a company press release.
About 450 employees are currently based at the Stockholm office. The closure is scheduled for 1 March 2027.
Volvo Cars said it would consolidate its Swedish expertise and resources in fewer locations by transferring most responsibilities from Stockholm to the Gothenburg headquarters. The move is expected to improve cost efficiency, the company said.
The transition will take place gradually before the office closes. Volvo Cars said it would manage the process in close dialogue with employees and company representatives.
