Tax refund scams target Finnish banking and personal details

Yle reports that police are warning about tax refund scams sent in the name of the Finnish Tax Administration.

The scams aim to obtain online banking credentials, payment card details or other personal information. Messages may promise a tax refund or demand payment for overdue taxes, and recipients are asked to open a link or log in with their banking credentials.

Police remind people that the Tax Administration never requests personal information by message. They also encourage people to discuss scam messages with relatives and friends.
