Police use pepper spray during overnight arrests

Police used pepper spray while arresting a person after a fight in a garden in Hafnarfjörður, mbl.is reports.

Officers were called overnight after two people began fighting. One of them ran away when police arrived, ignored their orders and strongly resisted arrest, prompting officers to use pepper spray.

Police also stopped a motorcycle rider who was found to be driving under the influence while disqualified from driving. The vehicle was uninsured, and the rider had stolen goods in their possession. The person also attempted to escape during the police intervention but was eventually placed in a detention cell.

In the area covered by police station 3, which handles cases in Kópavogur and Breiðholt, police received a report of a traffic accident in which a motorcycle rider fell from the vehicle and was injured. The person was taken by ambulance to an emergency department.
