Northeast Iceland records 61.2% vote against proposal

Final results from Iceland’s Northeast constituency show that 61.2% of voters rejected the proposal, mbl.is reports.

A total of 26,073 votes were counted, with turnout at 83.4%. The votes were distributed as follows:

Yes: 10,022
No: 15,822
Blank: 125
Invalid: 104

Before the Northeast results were released, the no vote stood at 51.8% nationwide. It has now risen to 52.5%.
