Yes side takes lead after Reykjavik results

The yes side moved ahead after initial results from Reykjavik, mbl.is reports, with votes counted from both Reykjavik constituencies.

In the Reykjavik North constituency, 21,108 votes had been counted. A total of 12,442 voters said yes and 8,507 said no. There were 81 blank ballots and 78 invalid ballots.

Turnout was approximately 58.2%, meaning about 76.6% of the votes cast had been counted in the constituency.

In the Reykjavik South constituency, 21,020 votes had been counted. The yes side received 11,647 votes, while 9,189 voters said no. There were 107 blank ballots and 80 invalid ballots.

Turnout in Reykjavik South was 57.95%, and approximately 75% of votes cast had been counted.

The Reykjavik results put the yes side ahead after initial figures had been reported from all constituencies outside the capital. Before results from the Southwest constituency were released, the overall count stood at 51.5% yes and 48.5% no.
