An Icelandair aircraft turned back shortly after taking off from Boston on Friday because of a minor technical fault, mbl.is reported.

The aircraft had been flying from Nashville in the United States to Iceland on Thursday when it landed in Boston for safety reasons. It was operating an empty ferry flight when it turned back on Friday, according to Icelandair information officer Ásdís Ýr Pétursdóttir.

Ásdís said the aircraft was ready to take off again and would depart Boston shortly.

Most of the passengers bound for Iceland continued their journey on another aircraft and landed at Keflavík Airport on Friday morning.
