Partial lunar eclipse visible in Finland before dawn

A partial lunar eclipse may be visible in Finland early this morning, although the view will be limited, Yle reports.

The Moon will begin passing into Earth’s penumbra at about 4:23 a.m., with the partial phase starting at around 5:33 a.m.

The eclipse’s peak will not be visible in Finland because the Moon will set beforehand. In Helsinki, the Moon will sink below the horizon at about 6:09 a.m.

The best viewing opportunities will be in western Finland. Observers will need an unobstructed view towards the west and southwest.
