Bakkafrost, police, Skálavík

Kringvarp Føroya reports that police are investigating suspected vandalism at Bakkafrost’s water wells serving its smolt station in Skálavík.

Employees discovered on Thursday morning last week that all four valves at the wells had been opened. The water, which was intended for the smolt station, instead flowed into a river and then out to sea.

The incident was reported to police. Kári Jacobsen, head of the investigation, said officers had visited Skálavík, carried out technical examinations at the location and conducted interviews.

Jacobsen said he did not know when the investigation would be completed.
