An SVT analysis says the Tidö parties are closing the gap with the red-green opposition in opinion polls, possibly because voters are more satisfied with the government and more positive about their own finances.

Several polls now show a smaller difference between the two political blocs. The opposition has led for most of the current parliamentary term, at times by a wide margin.

According to SVT political commentator Mats Knutson, greater satisfaction with the government’s work and improved views of personal finances could influence how voters choose to vote.

The narrowing gap is a positive development for the Tidö parties. However, the continued decline of the Liberals is a setback. The party remains in such a weak position that it may struggle to attract tactical votes in the election, and its result on election day could affect the outcome.
