Parliament approves 750 extra fishing days for group 5B

The Løgting, the parliament, has approved 750 additional fishing days for boats in group 5B this fishing year, KVF reports.
The parliament approved the proposal submitted by Fisheries Minister Bárður á Steig Nielsen. A motion to return the matter to the Industry Committee was rejected by 22 votes to seven.
The bill itself passed by 22 votes to seven. A large majority of the Industry Committee had supported the proposal. The measure on granting more fishing days to group 5 must now receive one further reading in parliament.
