Bishop of Iceland Guðrún Karls Helgudóttir plans to move into the former parsonage at Mosfell church, mbl.is reports.

She confirmed to Morgunblaðið that she intends to move there once planned construction and renovations to the house have been completed. She currently lives in her own home in Grafarvogur.

The bishop’s residence at Bergstaðastræti 75 in Reykjavík was sold two years ago. Guðrún’s predecessors, including Agnes M. Sigurðardóttir and Karl Sigurbjörnsson, lived there.

Kirkjublaðið, which cited minutes from the governing board of the National Church of Iceland, reported that the future residence at Mosfell was built in 1997. The renovations are expected to be completed around the turn of the year.

Architectural firm Gláma Kím prepared proposals for the choice of materials and other interior renovations. The existing garage will be converted into a room, and a new garage will be built beside the house.
