Fire spreads from carport to terraced house in Helsinki

A large fire broke out overnight in a terraced house in Helsinki’s Puistola district, Yle reported. The fire started in a carport on Sirkkalanmäki and spread to the end of the terraced house, according to the Helsinki Rescue Department.

Initial information indicated that four cars had caught fire and that the end of the terraced house was burning. No injuries have been reported so far.

About 10 rescue service units were at the scene. Crews were trying to prevent the fire from spreading through the roof space, but extensive material damage was considered likely.
