Water distribution is returning to normal in Korpilahti, Jyväskylä, Yle reports. The pipe break that caused an unusually widespread disruption has been located more precisely, and repairs began on Tuesday evening.

The disruption began on Monday evening and affected more than 700 water-use points at its peak, including appointments at the Korpilahti dental clinic. There is no estimate yet for when the repairs will be completed.

Alva, the water utility, said the boiling-water advisory remains in force throughout Korpilahti and in the areas served by the Moksi and Kärkinen water cooperatives. Water samples are being collected from different parts of the pipeline network, with results expected no later than Friday.

The City of Jyväskylä said the advisory issued on Tuesday morning was a precautionary measure because of the pipe break.

The distribution of clean water continues in the courtyards of the Korpilahti S-Market and Satamakapteeni.
