Appeal court upholds life sentence for Gaboro murder

Göta Court of Appeal has upheld a life sentence for a 22-year-old man convicted of murdering rapper Gaboro, SVT reports. A 32-year-old man accused of helping with the murder was acquitted.

The 22-year-old was also convicted of attempted murder after shots were fired at an apartment in Gusum, as well as several serious weapons offences.

“Like the district court, the Court of Appeal has concluded that the sentence for the offences should be life imprisonment,” the court said in a statement.

The 32-year-old was extradited to Sweden from Germany. He was acquitted by Norrköping District Court, and the Court of Appeal reached the same conclusion, dismissing the charge of aiding and abetting murder.

Gaboro, whose real name was Ninos Khouri, was shot dead in a parking garage in central Norrköping on December 19, 2024. The murder was filmed and the footage was quickly shared on social media.

“The circumstances surrounding the murder in the parking garage are already so seriously aggravating that there are no grounds for setting a fixed term for the sentence,” Court of Appeal judge Ulrik Lönnmyr said.

As Gaboro, Khouri had millions of views on YouTube and appeared several times in the top 10 of Sweden’s album chart. He was also linked to the now-divided Kalo network in Norrköping and was present when a 22-year-old gang criminal was shot dead at a restaurant in Norrköping in 2023.
