Brikk has recalled one production batch of its chocolate cake because the packaging carries misleading labelling, mbl.is reports. The recall was carried out in consultation with the municipal health inspectorates serving Garðabær, Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur, Mosfellsbær and Seltjarnarnes.
The label stating that the product may contain traces of almonds poses a risk to people with almond allergies. Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority is warning consumers with almond allergies not to eat the cake.
The recall applies only to the following batch:
Brand: BRIKK
Product: Chocolate cake
Producer: Brikk Eldhús ehf, 491019-0930
Best before: 2 September 2026
Net weight: 650 grams
Barcode: 5694230457311
The batch was distributed to Krónan stores in Mosfellsbær, Grafarholt, Bíldshöfði, Lindir, Akrabraut, Flatarhraun, Norðurhella, Austurver, Skeifan, Borgartún, Hallveigarstígur, Grandi, Fitjar and Selfoss.
It was also distributed to Hagkaup stores in Skeifan, Garðabær and Spöng.
