Car catches fire in Vesturbær district

A car caught fire at the corner of Víðimel and Furumel in the Vesturbær district on Monday morning, mbl.is reported. One fire engine was sent to the scene.
A duty officer with the Capital Area Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters received the call at 8.15am.
No one was inside the car when the fire started, and the cause is unknown. Heavy smoke rose from the fire, causing significant traffic delays nearby.
