Traffic congestion reported on Highway 3 between Tampere and Lempäälä after multi-vehicle accident

Traffic was heavily congested between Tampere and Lempäälä on Highway 3 due to an accident on Wednesday. The road was temporarily closed after a collision involving three vehicles, leading to significant backups towards Hämeenlinna. The incident occurred during peak afternoon traffic hours.

The accident involved a delivery van, a passenger car, and a truck. The collision occurred while the truck was parked on the roadside waiting for a tire change. The delivery van, followed by the passenger car, crashed into the back of the truck. The truck driver had ordered the tire change, but it had not yet taken place when the accident occurred.

A total of three people were in the vehicles involved. Two were taken to the hospital for checks, while the truck driver was able to continue their journey following the collision.

The specific location of the accident was between the Särkijärvi and Sääksjärvi interchanges. Traffic was not only congested towards Hämeenlinna but also elsewhere as drivers sought alternative routes.
