Thieves reversed a car into a window at Efstaleitisapótek, a pharmacy, overnight and stole medication, mbl.is reports. Police in the capital region are investigating and working to identify those responsible.

“A car was reversed into a window, they went inside and stole medication,” deputy chief superintendent Jóhann Karl Þórisson told mbl.is. He said police did not yet know the value of the stolen goods or which medicines had been taken.

Images indicate that two people were involved. Jóhann said the burglary appeared to have been planned, as the thieves seemed to know roughly which drawer to search.

No suspects have been identified, and the case remains under investigation. “Hopefully we will catch them,” Jóhann said.

This was the second break-in at Efstaleitisapótek this summer. In July, a person was arrested after breaking open a door to enter the pharmacy. The person escaped in a Hopp car-sharing vehicle, which was later abandoned on a footpath in Fossvogur.
