Sword attack at Fagersta school leaves one dead and three injured

A suspected 18-year-old attacker entered Brinellskolan in Fagersta shortly after 2pm on Friday carrying a sword, according to SVT. Three people were injured and a 17-year-old girl was killed.

Videos recorded inside the school show parts of the chaotic situation that followed the attack. In the background, a person says the suspected attacker was armed with a “long knife” and that “everyone was in the cafeteria” before people ran out of the building.

Several other schools in the area were placed in lockdown during the operation. Video recorded at the nearby Risbroskolan shows heavily armed police moving outside the building.

At the same time, a person can be heard saying: “It is a school shooting.”
