Police will close Ring III in Espoo to recover truck

Traffic on Ring III at the Kauklahden junction in Espoo will be briefly closed in both directions at about 6 p.m. on Friday while a truck is lifted from a ditch, Yle reports.

Preparations for the recovery will begin in the afternoon, and traffic near the accident site may become congested, according to Fintraffic’s Road Traffic Centre.

The truck, which was carrying cable reels, and a passenger car that swerved to avoid it left the road at about 10 a.m. No one was seriously injured.

Western Uusimaa Police are asking motorists to consider alternative routes instead of Ring III in Kauklahden.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and preliminarily suspect the truck driver of endangering traffic safety.
