MP Mari Kaunistola named Pori University Centre director

Finnish MP Mari Kaunistola has been appointed director of the University Centre in Pori, Yle reports.

Kaunistola, a member of the National Coalition Party, is serving her first term in Parliament. She has been a member of Pori City Council since 2012 and is currently first deputy chair of both the city council and the Satakunta regional council.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to develop and build the Pori University Centre together with academics from the universities of Turku and Tampere,” Kaunistola said in a statement.

She will begin familiarising herself with the role at the start of 2027 and will take it up full time after her parliamentary work ends.
