More than a third went to Culture Ministry buildings

The Faroese state spent 262.7 million kroner maintaining public buildings from 2015 to 2025, according to broadcaster KVF.

During the first eight years, annual spending was just over 20 million kroner. It rose to just over 27 million in 2023, more than 29 million in 2024 and just under 30.5 million last year.

The largest share, just under 93 million kroner, went to buildings belonging to the Ministry of Culture.

The figures were provided by government minister Jacob Vestergaard in response to a question from parliamentarian Sirið Stenberg.
