Police record theft and assault at grocery store
Police received a report of theft and assault at a grocery store yesterday evening or overnight in an area covered by Police Station 3, which handles cases in Kópavogur and Breiðholt, mbl.is reports.
The incident was included in the police log covering operations from yesterday afternoon until early Wednesday morning. The log does not say whether the alleged victim was a store employee, a customer or someone else.
Three people were held in police cells overnight, while 70 cases were recorded in total during the period.
Drug dealing and suspected impaired driving
In central Reykjavík, police intervened with a man suspected of selling drugs. He was detained in connection with the investigation.
Two drivers in the city centre were stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Police responsible for Kópavogur and Breiðholt stopped two drivers suspected of drunk driving. One of them was also suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and of other traffic offences.
Police covering Árbær, Norðlingaholt, Grafarholt, Úlfarsárdalur, Grafarvogur, Mosfellsbær, Kjósarhreppur and Kjalarnes stopped a driver suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and of driving while deprived of a licence.
Police covering Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær stopped a driver who had never obtained a driving licence.
