4,887 people changed registered address in July

A total of 4,887 people changed their registered address within Iceland in July, according to mbl.is, citing monthly figures from Registers Iceland. The number was 7.8 per cent lower than in July last year, when 5,268 people registered a domestic move.
Of the total, 3,252 people changed their registered address in the capital region. Among them, 2,843 moved within the region.
A total of 409 people moved out of the capital region.
In the Southwest region, 376 people changed their registered address. Of those, 267 moved within the region and 61 moved to the capital region.
In the South region, 431 people changed their registered address. Of those, 320 moved within the region and 78 moved to the capital region.
Over the past five years, August has recorded the highest number of domestic moves.
