People return to Múli after more than 12 years

Two people have moved back to Múli, with residents registered there for the first time in more than 12 years, Kringvarp Føroya reported, citing the Statistics Office’s population register.
The two residents moved to Múli in June, according to the Statistics Office.
As of July 1, 55,505 people lived in the Faroe Islands, an increase of 643 from the same date last year.
Tórshavn Municipality recorded the largest population increase, with 370 more residents than a year earlier. More than 40 percent of the Faroe Islands’ population lives in the municipality.
Population growth was also recorded in Runavík, Sjóvar, Klaksvík, Nes and Eystur municipalities. Tvøroyri Municipality had the largest decline, with 35 fewer residents than on July 1 last year.
