The road around Kaldalón in the northern part of Ísafjarðardjúp has been reopened. The closure was prompted by damage caused when the Mórilla River breached its banks last night, leading to the destruction of protective barriers. Road maintenance crews worked throughout the day to repair the damage, and the route was successfully reopened by evening.
