A man in his fifties is facing a compensation claim of tens of thousands of euros for breaking a window at a police station in Karasjok, near the Finnish border, Norwegian broadcaster NRK reports.

The man allegedly threw a stone through one of the station’s windows, shattering it. According to an indictment by the Inner and Eastern Finnmark District Court, installing a replacement window cost 382,000 Norwegian kroner, or about 35,000 euros.

He also threw stones at several other windows at the police station, but they did not break.

In addition, several windows of cars parked at the Karigasniemi border station between Finland and Norway were damaged.
