Longliners are fishing at the Flemish Cap fishing ground, near East Greenland and on the Iceland Ridge, KVF reports, citing Fiskamarknaðurin.
One longliner is at the Flemish Cap, one is near East Greenland and two are on the Iceland Ridge. Currents are strong but are expected to ease as the week progresses, while the weather will be mostly favourable. Fishing activity is therefore expected to continue this week, with some boats heading to the Faroe Bank.
Three deepwater trawlers are on the Iceland Ridge and one is to the east. Two pairs of trawlers are also on the ridge, while another pair is to the east.
Three trawlers are operating in the coastal fishing grounds and one is to the north. Fiskamarknaðurin says some trawlers are nearing the end of their available days in the coastal grounds.
Two gillnet vessels are fishing for Greenland halibut and are reporting reasonably good catches.
