Finnish Navy launches firing exercise in Archipelago Sea

The Finnish Navy’s Coastal Fleet has begun a large-scale firing exercise at the Örö firing ranges in the Archipelago Sea, Yle reports. The exercise will continue until Thursday.

The training focuses on air defence and naval artillery firing. According to the Finnish Defence Forces, it will improve the fleet’s ability to counter unmanned aerial vehicles of different sizes with various weapon systems and train ship personnel to operate under the threat of drones.

Ships and personnel from all Coastal Fleet squadrons are taking part.
