Prosecutor General reviews Tampere officer who displayed gun

Finland’s Prosecutor General will assess the actions of a police officer who pointed a gun at a man in Tampere, Yle reported on Sunday.

The assessment will determine whether there is reason to suspect the officer shown in the video of a crime, according to a statement from the Central Finland Police Department.

A bystander opened the door of an unmarked police car parked by the roadside on Wednesday, August 12. The car was running, but no one was visible. In the video, an armed police officer emerges from the rear of the vehicle and orders the man to leave.

The police department has also begun investigating the incident.
