Border Guard apprehends person after unauthorised eastern border crossing

Finland’s Southeast Finland Border Guard apprehended a foreign national who crossed the eastern border without authorisation in Imatra on Friday evening, Yle reported.

The person has applied for asylum.

The border commissioner for Southeast Finland has contacted the border commissioner for Russia’s Vyborg region over the incident.
