Sexologist Carl-Mar Møller dies at 72

Nationally known sexologist Carl-Mar Møller has died at the age of 72, DR reports. His wife, Helle Møller, confirmed to DR News that he was pronounced dead at the couple’s home in Nivå on Thursday.
Møller, whose legal name was Carl-Marenus Michael Eggert Møller, was known for provocative statements about gender roles. He became widely known in the 1990s for his comments about gender and sexual organs, and continued to take part in public debates for many years.
Among his best-known statements was: “The penis is God, but the cunt has the power.”
He described himself as a feminist. In 2016, he said that women’s position in society had worsened over the previous decade.
“Men are psychologically inferior to women. That is why men need to suppress women through religion, culture and the economy, because men are the weaker sex,” Møller said at the time.
School was his life’s work
Møller trained as a social educator and ran a school for sexology, couples therapy and psychotherapy for 33 years. He described the school as his life’s work.
There, he treated military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and trained other sexologists. He ran the school from his home on a large farm near Kokkedal.
He also held controversial bachelor party events, where men who were more or less undressed were subjected to various boundary-pushing experiences. One event went wrong when a car carrying lightly dressed men in a cage on its roof overturned. No one was seriously injured.
The farm burned down in 2022, but Møller continued working as a therapist. In an interview with Ritzau for his 70th birthday, he said he intended to work for as long as he could.
“I get inspired and have something to think about. Every time I have a new client, I learn something new,” he said at the time.
In addition to his work as a therapist, Møller published 13 books about the body, children, relationships and therapy, and developed several board games.
He also appeared in a number of television programmes as a couples and psychotherapist, as well as in entertainment segments on “Big Brother VIP” and “Zulu Djævleræs”.
