Veitur to drill for hot water in Laugarnes

Veitur will begin preparing in August to drill for hot water near the junction of Kringlumýrarbraut and Laugarvegur and Suðurlandsbraut, mbl.is reports.

According to a statement from Veitur, the first drilling pad will be set up at Bolholt, followed by a grass area at Engjateigur.

Drilling is expected to begin in September or October, with each well expected to take about six weeks to drill.

Veitur will hold a public meeting for nearby residents and businesses on Tuesday, August 18, to present the project.
