Finland restricts aviation and maritime activity in Gulf of Finland

Finland’s Defence Forces have introduced temporary restrictions on aviation and maritime activity in the eastern Gulf of Finland, Yle reported.

The restrictions took effect at 4 a.m. on Friday. The Defence Forces said on the X messaging service that the measure was a precaution intended to protect bystanders and ensure that authorities can operate while potentially intercepting drones.

Latvia’s armed forces also issued an air raid alert early on Friday morning.
