Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation suspects four people of raising funds for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party PKK, which the European Union classifies as a terrorist organisation, Yle reports.
The preliminary investigation has been completed and will now be transferred to the Office of the Prosecutor General for consideration of charges.
According to the bureau, the four suspects allegedly helped collect funds by repeatedly visiting businesses operated by people with foreign backgrounds in different parts of Finland. The alleged fundraising began in November 2024.
Two of the suspects are also suspected of participating in the terrorist group’s activities. Investigators believe they held a leading role in arranging and organising operations in the name of the PKK.
The suspects have denied committing any crimes.
